The vault screener toolbox — part 7: everything, side by side with Altcopy
Six kinds of tools to screen and compare Hyperliquid vaults — and the one job almost none of them do. The full comparison table, and where the Altcopy leaderboard actually fits.
We've walked the whole toolbox: the native page, VaultVision, ASXN, the open-source Analyzer, the wallet & whale terminals, and the builder layer. Here they all are next to the Altcopy leaderboard — and the pattern that emerges.
The whole field, in one table
| Tool | Category | Best at | Use it for | How Altcopy differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Native HL page | Source of truth | Complete, free, neutral | Verify against it | Curated layer on top of it |
| VaultVision | Vault screener | Risk sort + 2–4 overlay | Narrowing the field | Curates + flags + Index, not just screens |
| ASXN | Data dashboard | Breadth + ecosystem context | Macro + raw vault stats | Depth on vault curation vs breadth |
| Vault Analyzer | Optimizer (OSS/ML) | Build-your-own weights | Coders/quants | Transparent rules vs ML prediction |
| Wallet/whale terminals | Trader trackers | Vetting a leader's wallet | Due diligence on the human | One layer up: the vault as a product |
| Builder layer | Raw API/scrapers | Total control | Builders | The finished product we built from it |
The pattern
Sort the toolbox and almost everything falls into three buckets: screeners that show you the field (the native page, VaultVision, ASXN), wallet trackers that vet a trader (Hyperdash, HyperTracker, Nansen & co.), and builder kits for rolling your own (the API, scrapers, the Analyzer). Each is excellent at its specialty — VaultVision's overlay, ASXN's breadth, Hyperdash's whale flow, the API's total control — and at that one thing, several beat us.
What almost none of them do is the curation job: take the field, strip the dormant and funded-illusion traps, ask who you are, separate the benchmark and the dead, and hand you a flagged, profile-aware, monitored basket with the rules shown. That's the gap the Altcopy leaderboard fills — and it's why it's a layer on top of these tools, not a replacement for them.
How to actually use all of it
Screen on VaultVision or the native page; get ecosystem context from ASXN; vet the leader on a wallet terminal; if you can code, verify it all on the API; and use the Altcopy board for the curated, honest cut and the Index. Cross-check everything against the source of truth, and never let any single screen — ours included — make the decision alone.
Use any third-party tool read-only — type the URL yourself, paste only a public address, never connect a wallet you don't have to, never enter a seed phrase. Not an endorsement; verify before you trust.
That closes the toolbox series. Nothing here is financial advice.
